A strong earthquake measuring 6.1 on the Richter scale struck Indonesia's island of Sulawesi early Friday morning.
According to the US Geological Survey, the earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers.
The epicenter was about 200 kilometers northeast of Baubau on Sulawesi, over 1,800 kilometers east of the capital Jakarta.
No immediate tsunami alert was issued by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center following the quake.
