This day in history of the Walt Disney World Resort for February 12th and 13th.
On this day, February 12th, 2000, the Epcot Millennium Culinary Series Grand Tasting event kicks off. Guests are invited to discover the rich flavors and heritage of Black History Month of the event. It features different wines and culinary creations prepared by renowned visiting and Walt Disney road shops. Disney celebrates Black Heritage Month throughout February with special events such as African-American concerts and shows at the American Gardens Theatre. A Black Heritage Month storyteller at the American Adventure Rotunda, book signing, special merchandise and a wood fired barbecue.
February 13th, 1993. Lumiere's Kitchen restaurant opens at the Magic Kingdom of Walt Disney World. This fast-food spot was often open only seasonally and it's located on the former site of Lancer's Inn and Gurgi's Munchies & Crunchies. It's a good bet for "Kids' Meals" and also offers selections for adults, such as fries, chili, food chips and solid beverages. It's located between Pooh's Adventure and Snow White's Scary Adventures in Fantasyland. I see in this video from 1993, aboard the Skyway ride.
