This Day in History - On November 5th, 1911, bombs were dropped by a plane for the first time.
It took several years for military minds to view the airplane as anything more than an interesting sporting device. But by November, 1911, the Italians had proven that airplanes could be used in a manner, hardly sporting. The Italians dropped bombs on [-----1-----] in Libya.
