花田错源出《水浒》第五回「小霸王醉入销金帐．花和尚大闹桃花村」，落魄书生卞济卖画为生，与官家小姐刘月英邂逅花田盛会，但小霸王周通从中阻挠，引发一连串危机。人谓：花田盛会，一错再错；千古姻缘，好事多磨。 花田盛会译成the Flower Festival, 不尽恰当，但也无更合适的替代。（李杜 注）
