“cold feet”是脚冷吗？⊙

寒冬腊月，空有一身正气也拯救不了手脚冰凉星人，但千万不要用cold feet来表达脚冷哦。

 

因为cold feet的含义是“临时退缩，胆怯”，和中文语境的“腿软”有异曲同工之妙。常见的搭配有”get cold feet”和“have cold feet”。

 

e.g. He planned to participate in the demonstration, but then he had cold feet.

他打算参加示威，但临阵退缩了。

a person who is distant and unfeeling

4. cold comfort 

于事无补的安慰; 不起作用的慰藉

no comfort or consolation at all

 

e.g. She knows there are others worse off than her, but that’s cold comfort.
