This is a simple but enlightening pie chart on students’ purposes of reading on their mobile phones in a certain university. In this chart, gaining knowledge accounts for 59.5%, which is the largest among all the four goals. In addition, killing time and searching for information take up 21.3% and 17% respectively. Other factors merely occupy a small percentage.
First and foremost, living in an era of information, we are using a variety of devices, which are based on mobile technologies, such as computers and smart phones. Compared with expensive and heavy computers, a growing number of college students have realized the convenience of mobile phones. Furthermore, smart phones with the Internet are like windows which enrich learners‘ minds, enhance their efficiency of searching for information, ensure more fruitful results in learning knowledge, and enable them to go further on the way of education.
