【内容简介】
故事讲述了在未来的芝加哥，人们被分成五大派别，分别是：诚实（Candor）、博学(Erudite)、友好（Amity）、无畏（Dauntless）、无私（Abnegation）。每一个孩子在16岁的时候都要选择一个派别加入，并经受考验。女主角特丽丝（Beatrice “Tris” Prior）正面临这样的选择，然而她与别人不同，“能力倾向测试”显示她同时具备无畏、无私、博学三种特质，是一个罕见的“分歧者”。一方面牵挂家人、一方面又有自己主见的碧翠丝做出令人惊讶的选择。同时，她的特殊身份早已引来各派人物的关注；表面和平的城市下，一个个危险的阴谋正在酝酿着，特丽丝接下来的选择，不但决定了她的存亡，更关联着无数的生命 。
