当年The Lightning Seeds的名作《Cloudcuckooland》走红之时，后来在英国乐坛争得面红耳赤的两大摇滚巨星Oasis和Blur还都没成立呢。《Cloudcuckooland》以及后来的《Sense》让Brit Pop音乐流派的风范已然初具雏形，只不过媒体还没想出这个词语来炒作罢了。当然，Lightning Seeds出名是出名，可也不是全无缺憾，从89年的《Cloudcuckooland》到99年最后一张专辑《Tilt》，Lightning Seeds的风格都没有太大变化，这也是乐队长期几乎都是由Ian Broudie一人掌控的结果，因为Ian Broudie经常忙着给别的乐队当制作人(这张名单里有既有80年代的后朋克名团Echo & the Bunnymen和The Fall，也有90年代的英伦摇滚乐队Sleeper，Republica，还有另类流行乐队Human Drama两千年后的专辑，甚至于目前走红的The Coral。Lightning Seeds反倒像他有意无意要照顾流行排行榜的需求而做的一个讨巧产品。
对于多数生于80年代的歌迷来说，这只乐队毕竟不像Suede，Verve这样熟悉，但如果你想把Oasis或者Beatles的旋律感来结合80年代新浪潮编曲，用比早期Blur更乖巧更阳光的声音唱出来，这就跟The Lightning Seeds八九不离十了。一句话说，这感觉就像加了弦乐编排的Pet Shop Boys和New Order联合向六七十年代流行民谣致敬一样。(摘自网络)
