Josie: So, Eve, tell us about your family’s Chinese New Year celebrations?

Pete: Aunt Josie, can I talk to you? (moves Josie away from Eve)

Josie: What’s going on?

Pete: ( lower his voice so Eve can’t hear) I asked Eve about her family’s celebration earlier. She started crying.

Josie: Really? Why?

Pete: Think about it. Her parents are in Shanghai. And her brother is in the hospital!

Eve: I can hear you.
