周四下午我再次回到交大，担任美国铁姆肯公司在交大设立奖学金启动仪式的MC（Master of Ceremony 主持人）和Consecutive Interpreter（交传）。（Timken Scholarship Launching Ceremony） 来到会堂的第一个感觉就是 —— 交大的校园实在太大了。典礼在新落成的机械楼群举办，我第一次从校门口出发步行居然走了40分钟，第二次在夜幕中前往居然走丢了-_-b，第三次搭车给司机指路发现还是绕了一个大圈…（方向感还是很弱啊） 和Timken一直有长期的合作关系，这次他们来到交大举办仪式还是让我兴奋了很久，因为，我又见到了亲爱的Katherine Chen了（The extraordinary lady who has always been my “Mona Lisa Smile”）。正在我准备稿子的时候听到一声熟悉的“Echo~”，抬头就看到笑意涟涟的她，心里还是很甜蜜的:) Katherine also graduated from SJTU. As Marketing Communication Manager with Timken China now, she is my role model in real business life. I knew she had great expectation on me, so I did as much preparation as possible. I really wanted to make her proud of my performance on that day. 虽然仪式的流程很简单，也比较小型，可承办典礼的公关公司有一群非常勤恳又注重细节的员工。公关公司的老板Peter非常认真地给我讲解了整个流程；音响师也在一边做笔记，因为他要在我某些句子话音刚落时奏起音乐或者投上影像；而我更要清楚地记得这一串名字和头衔，以及哪个环节要把谁留在台上，接下来要把谁请上来做什么事情；而且一个人进行双语主持，要让整个过程听来起流畅自然还真是需要用心设计一下才行呢。 仪式中的口译任务并不重 —— 为双方代表的致词做中译英的交传。简单的任务要完成并不难，可要完成得好同样也是要费不少心思。讲话的内容大家都能听懂，所以听众同时也都是评判官；仪式本身又比较正式，对于语言质量和表达也就会有更高的要求。
当时受限于条件，我是站立在发言者旁边口译的。记录时，一手拿笔，一手拿着麦克风和记录纸，难免有点局促。不过我在翻译的时候还是很流畅，也充满自信的罢:)
一个小时的典礼转眼就结束了，我还是得到了很多好评，Surely, what I wanted most was the positive comments from Katherine~. “My girl, great job!” At that moment, nothing would make you happier than being acknowledged by the one you truly admire. 很多时候，我们在台下看看挺简单的活儿，可真要做完善了，幕后都是要下很多很多的功夫。The roots of hard work might be bitter, but the fruits are sweet. 下面附三段写得比较清楚的笔记，在记忆没有衰退之前，记录下大致的原文和当时的译文，学习高口的同学可以练习一下哦:)

大致原文：正如刚才录像中James Gresh先生所说，高素质的员工队伍是铁姆肯业务发展壮大的关键。自2002年以来，铁姆肯在中国的发展迅速，员工从1000名增长到4000多名，我们每年的业务增长一直都保持在两位的百分比。译文：

A couple of months ago, we held a national competition called “the art of engineering”. 10 universities across the nation have participated in it. From these activities, we do find there are deep levels of creativity and innovation ability among you, our future engineers. And innovation is truly the drive of our business growth. Globally, Timken’s innovative heritage has seen more than 1000 patents being awarded to the company. And last year alone, Timken’s investment in R&D reached 60 million USD.
