英法同形词义辨析：sûr / sure_法语学习

Sûr / Sure

“Sûr”和“sure”，多么简单，初级的词呀，也会是“假朋友”吗？

法语的“sûr”和英语的“sure”意思差不多，都可以翻译成“肯定，确信”，很多时候都可以互译，例如：

Je crois que j’ai une réunion vendredi, mais je ne suis pas sûr.

I think I’ve got a meeting on Friday, but I’m not sure.

我星期五应该有个会，但不我不敢肯定。

Comment pouvez-vous être si sûr de gagner/que vous allez gagner ?

How can you be so sure of winning/that you will win?

您怎么这么肯定您会赢呢？

以上的句子，主语都是人，“sûr” 和 “sure” 表示对某事，某结果 “确信”， “没有疑问”。但要注意 “sûr de verbe” 和 “sure to verb”的区别：

Il est sûr de gagner.

He is sure of winning /that he will win.

他对胜利很有把握。（他自己的判断）

He is sure to win.

Il va sûrement gagner/ c’est sûr qu’il gagnera / il gagnera à coup sûr.

他肯定会赢。（别人对他的判断）

如果句子的主语不是人，法语的 “sûr” 一般就不译为 “sure”，而要译为“certain，definite”等：

Ce n’est pas sûr qu’il revienne demain.

It’s not certain/definite that he’s coming back tomorrow.

还不确定他明天能否回来。

Une chose est sûre, c’est qu’il n’aura pas le poste.

One thing’s certain: he won’t get the job.

有一点是确定的：他得不到那个职位。

法语的 “sûr” 还有 “可靠，可信赖” 的意思，一般译为“reliable，dependable” 等：

Sa mémoire, autrefois si sûre, lui faisait de plus en plus défaut.

His memory, which had been so reliable/dependable, began to fail him more and more frequently.

以前他的记性挺好，而现在越来越差了。

Un adjoint sûr vaut son pesant d’or.

A reliable/dependable/trustworthy assistant is worth his weight in gold.

一个可靠的助理能帮你解决大问题（是无价之宝）。

除此之外，法语的 “sûr” 还有 “安全，有保障” 的意思，一般译为“safe, secure” 等：

Il y a dix ans, ce quartier était très sûr, mais maintenant les agressions sont monnaie courante.

Ten years ago this was a very safe district, but nowadays mugging is a frequent occurrence.

10年前，这个区还很安全。而现在抢劫已经是家常便饭了。

Cette marque de voiture est considérée comme très sûre.

This make of car is considered to be very safe.

这个品牌的汽车被认为是非常安全的。

J’enverrai la lettre en recommandé, c’est plus sûr.

I’ll send the letter by recorded delivery. It’s safer that way.

这封信我打算寄挂号信，那样更安全。
