Social Practice of College Students
Nowadays a large number of universitiesencourage and organize students to take part in social practice activities. During theholidays, students in mounting numbers choose to be the volunteers, take part-time jobs, ortake part in other practical activities alike. It is obvious that social practice is playing anincreasingly essential role in China’s college education.
Undoubtedly, college students have benefited a lot from social practice. Above all, they areprovided with more opportunities to contact the real world outside campus. What is more, insocial practice activities, students can apply their theoretical knowledge to the solution to thepractical problems. So their practical skills are improved greatly. Besides, social practice helpsstrengthen students’ sense of social responsibility.
Considering the above-mentioned, it is necessary for college students to participate insocial practice. However, social practice may bring some problems. For example, somestudents spend too much time in taking part-time jobs so as to ignore their study. Hence, weshould try to balance the relationship between social practice and study.
Reform of English Education
Reform of English Education
As college English education is greatly emphasized with the rapid development of global communication，the defects that exist in the current educational system are open to more criticism- It is widely acknowledged that a thorough reform of college English education should be under way.
People ask for English education reform mainly because of the Inadequacy of college English education under the current system. On the one hand, many college English teachers underestimate the role interest plays in English learning and keep preaching in class. On the other hand, under the current system, most Chinese students tend to separate vocabulary memorizing, grammar, Listening, speaking, reading, and writing from each other and therefore their English is also “broken” in this way. This has also greatly contributed to the “dumb English” of many Chinese students.
In my view, to reform English education, colleges and universities should encourage students to speak English in class and hold more activities to promote students' oral English. Teachers should focus on attracting students with vivid teaching and arouse students* enthusiasm in learning English. With the collaboration, the reform of college English education will surely yield pleasure future.
Part I Writing
Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write a short essay entitled College Students on the Job Market. You should write at least 150 words following the outline given below.
In recent years, college students find it increasingly difficult to get a decent (良好的) job. It sounds strange for the reason that (因为) young college students are usually intelligent, well-educated and aspirant (有抱负的).
Then what underlies the strange phenomenon?(这种奇怪的现象背后暗含着什么)There are several reasons for this. To begin with, nowadays college students aim too high. All they want are "good" jobs which could offer decent salaries, netfortable working conditions and high social status.(高收入，舒适的工作环境和高地位) Consequently, most college students would rather stay at home doing nothing and waiting for their ideal jobs. Another reason is that many colleges and universities fail to adapt their majors to (使课程适应于)the rapid development and growing demand of economy. So netpanies find that students are usually not fit for(适合)their positions.
Considering the seriousness (考虑到严重性)of unemployment of college students, I think it is high time that we should (我们是时候…了)take effective measures to solve the problem. Above all, college students should realize their own defects (缺点)and further (adv.进一步地)improve themselves to keep their netpetitive edge (竞争优势)in society. Moreover, colleges or universities should provide more trainings and internship (培训和实习)opportunities before the students enter society. Besides, college students should hold a right attitude towards jobs and set their job expectations at a suitable and rational level(合适而理智的). Only through these ways can the college students find a satisfactory and ideal job and have a brighter future. (333 words)
