This news reminds me of one sentence said by Roman Rolland that "success matters little, what is essential is to be great, not to appear great." In my opinion, such a behavior seems a bit silly and childish. Love is not a tool to prove or show something. Instead, love should be regarded as a kind of responsibility to everyone. Unveiled bombastic words and deeds, love should be simple and unadorned. To a degree, that's why simplicity is the key to brilliance.
“Because Venus does not have a pair of arms and Cupid loves covering his eyes, people who are in love always cannot grab and see each other.” I believe that is the reason why you need advice from your friends as bystanders. And having dinner together is apparently a good opportunity for them to know more about your boyfriend or girlfriend. Maybe they could see something you neglected. As for the bill, it is better if you and your love share it than only one of you pays. Remember, the dinner is just a sort of help and don’t let it bother you or your relationship.
