The Master went to see Nan Zi. Zi-lu was displeased. The Master swore, “If I have done anything improper, may Heaven’s curse be on me, may Heaven’s curse be on me! ”（刘殿爵先生译）
这是《论语·雍也》篇中的文字。朱熹《论语集注》有详解：“南子，卫灵公之夫人，有淫行。孔子至卫，南子请见，孔子辞谢，不得已而见之。盖古者仕于其国，有见其小君之礼。而子路以夫子见此淫乱之人为辱，故不悦。”
