Mat Kearney 歌手介绍：能写善唱的Mat Kearney从在加州大学读书的时候就开始了自己的音乐生涯，在那里他进修文学而且还是足球队的主力球员。完成了三年级的学业后Kearney和他的好友也是后来的制作人Robert Marvin一起前往了纳仕维尔，本来的目的仅仅是夏季采风吸取灵感写些歌，可出乎意料有唱片邀约，Kearney决定留在田纳西随即开始了专业音乐生涯，他钟爱把Hip-Hop和民谣夹杂入流行的曲调，在2004年Kearney在家独立厂牌下出版了第一张专辑《Bullet》，06年加盟了主流厂牌哥伦比亚唱片后第二张专辑《Nothing Left to Lose》问世，这张在纳仕维尔Dark Horse Studio录制的专辑，为Kearney稍稍淡化Hip-Hop的押韵，更多的专注于吉他的演奏上，旋律性更强。
在加盟了主流厂牌后推出的第一张专辑《Nothing Left to Lose》，年轻的唱作人Mat Kearney呈现的是糅合John Mayer, Jason Mraz,和U2风格的听觉感受，旋律犹如John Mayer初期的作品，但Kearney热衷加入Hip-Hop强化节奏的押韵感，他则在轻轻哼唱的副歌和Rap演唱间自如交错。同时他演唱时表现出的真挚隐忍又让人不禁联想到Chris Martin或者是早期的U2，涵盖《Nothing Left to Lose》中的十几首歌曲，无论是Kearney的声线还是回复段的吉他演奏都能让人觉得极似Coldplay,尤其是"Crashing Down"和"In the Middle"的钢琴演唱部分。听Kearney的音乐，是一种感受新兴音乐的体验，既有成人另类流行乐的通俗又不乏学院派演出的严谨，Kearney的音乐是迎合大众的，即使有点过激的Rap,也被他处理得工整。
Kearney从不自诩是另一个Jason Mraz，专辑中无时无刻不体现的是演唱者的真切和严肃，但对于Kearney来说要面对的是一个犹如阿契里斯之踵般的弱点，一种固有的羞怯和谦虚，让他总是呈现哀伤和过于自我专注。抛开隐藏的哀怨情绪不谈，Kearney的音乐还是讨人喜欢的，多亏了他那邻家男孩版的嗓音和干净有干劲的信条。关于《Nothing Left to Lose》，作品水准不品均是年轻歌手很难避免的弊病，尤其是难以把握的Rap和民谣流行曲、情歌的比重, 稍不留心即影响了给人的优雅感。《Nothing Left to Lose》中过半的歌曲其实是那些定位Kearney为未来之星曲目的重新混音版本，尤其适合那些觉得近来John Mayer过于猛烈，Coldplay过于冷淡艺术性的听众。
