【内容简介】
《独立日》是美国一部科幻片，于1996年7月3日上映（美国独立日前一天），由罗兰·艾默里奇执导，威尔·史密斯、比尔·普尔曼和杰夫·高布伦等联袂出演，影片讲述了当人们正准备热烈庆祝七月四日国庆日之时，一艘巨型的外星人母船进入地球轨道，并释放了三十多个小型飞船进入地球大气层，停留在世界几大城市上空，使人们极度恐慌。最终，在总统的鼓舞和带领下，人们共同阻止了外星人入侵，捍卫了地球。

The president: Good morning. In less than an hour, aircrafts from here will join others from around the world and you will be launching the largest aerial battle in the history of mankind. Mankind, that word should have new meaning for all of us today. We can't be consumed by our petty differences anymore. We will be united by our common interest. Perhaps it's fate that today is 4th of July and you will once again be fighting for our freedom, not from tyranny, oppression or persecution, but from annihilation. We are fighting for our right to live, to exist. And should we win the day, the fourth of July will no longer be known as an American holiday, but as the day when the world declare in one voice we will not go quietly into the night, we will not vanish without a fight, we are going to live on, we are going to survive!
