英语中最简单的一个词：a “一个”
英语中的不定冠词a有两种形态：
在辅音之前表现为a, 如a name, a stone
在元音之前表现为an, 如an apple, an orange
于是，另一个an other就变成了another
为什么表示“一个”的单词a会出现两种形态，在辅音前为a，元音前为an 呢？

古英语中的表示ān ‘一’。ān在修饰名词时，其鼻音n因所修饰词汇的首辅音弱化并消失，而在首原因时保留，故有了今天英语中的不定冠词，a和an
