【节目介绍】
流行美语是一档关于美国日常生活的常用语、短语的节目。节目内容比较轻松，具有趣味性，讲解一些常见的单词，但是却是一些我们不太了解的意思，穿插各种情景和人物对话，因而生动有趣。节目更新频率为一天一期，每次大约为5分钟，内容比较简单，适合初学者学习。音频材料为中英双语，只需要听写英文部分。
特别提示：文中Michael 为男声，Li Hua为女声，只需听写男生的英文对话部分即可，只听写Michael说的英文部分哦！！！中文部分不需要听写！！！

Jinx can be used as a verb or a noun. One way to jinx someone is to say something unlucky, like you just said.
Well, some people believe in jinxes. For instance, a lot of people think that there is a jinx on the Chicago Cubs baseball team. It hasn't won a World Series for 95 years.
That's right. I don't believe in black magic or anything like that. But I do think that if someone hears something unlucky, or believes that there is a jinx, it can affect his or her performance.
Really? What if I told you that I think you're going to fail this test unless you apologize to me? I am jinxing you.
Li Hua, you said it again. I'm going to give you five seconds to apologize for jinxing me.
Oh, come off it, Li Hua. You said you don't believe in jinxes.
I said "come off it." That means "stop talking nonsense" or "stop pretending that something is true".
Come off it, Li Hua. You're the one who said that if someone fails, it has nothing to do with the jinx.
You want me to feel guilty? Well, I don't.
Come off it, Li Hua. It's not my fault. It's your fault you didn't come to class on Friday. You missed about a third of the material covered on the test.
